The following is from a Cape Coral citizen's e-mail dated 10-4-06 9:18 AM : "...which is more important..." AJ Boyd, Stewart, Eric and Bertolini seem to be trying to make a major issue of Mickey Rosado borrowing a com card so he could keep up on his city e-mail worth $35. It is totally absurd for them to even mention an item of that pettiness when they have just committed to spend $980,000,000+/- (let's round it off at $1,000.000,000) of the taxpayers money on every manner of wasteful and unwanted projects. Most notable of those projects is the UEP ( 1/3 of the total budget ) which is riddled with documented illegal actions by the auditors and has been vehemently protested by the residents who are being robbed by the actions of 6 members of council other than Mickey Rosado. Will council use the same energy and vigor to investigate themselves for approving an illegal UEP project stealing a minimum of $28,000 and in some cases over $50,000 directly out of the pocket of each resident in SW4 and those already robbed in SW1,2&3 (representing many hundreds of millions of dollars and potentially one billion dollars) and those areas yet to come? There is an enormous hypocrisy here. A major dog and pony show and witch hunt over a $35 com card which Mickey probably could have purchased and submitted an expense voucher for (but borrowed from the city instead and saved the taxpayers a few dollars) vs the city's enormous and hugely costly, wasteful, time consuming and continuing denial of documented illegal actions in the UEPs. Stewart's damage control PR letter about the UEP alone was reported by the newspress to have cost $20,000 and no one on council said one word of protest or even questioned it. If Mickey is guilty on his business dealings on the land deals that is an entirely different matter. But council should be shut down on the com card /charter violation issue and reminded that they are all in violation of the public trust and local and state laws and should hold themselves accountable to the public with proportionate scrutiny on those charges (Lets see that's $35 Mickey vs Hundreds of millions of $ for 6 members of council). Hmmmm, which is more important to the taxpayers if it is put in perspective?
