To: "Webster" Subject: Pete Brandt Announces Council Run in District 2 Date: Saturday, February 10, 2007 12:07 AM Today Pete Brandt announced he will be a candidate for Cape Coral City Council to a large group of happy friends. He has been urged for over a year to run for office. He will be running for the District 2 seat. Pete is a retired aerospace engineer who has owned property in Cape Coral since 1986, and relocated here from California in January, ’03. He is active in the Cape Coral Power Squadron and the Cape Coral Engineer’s Society, and has served on the Board of the Children’s Science Center. The issues Pete will stress in his campaign are: 1) smaller, more efficient and cost conscious city government that will abandon the runaway increase in budget and spending, thus promoting lower taxes; 2) more effective use of public input and opinion; 3) putting decisions on major projects before the voters in the form of referendums; and 4) making sense out of the Utility Expansion Program by finding the most cost effective solution to our needs consistent with health and safety standards. Pete believes he can help provide common sense for Cape Coral.
